Butterfly

When the journeys long
and the pain is great,
I remember the caterpillar
and the risks he takes.

Ever slow is this speed
and hard is his path.
Yet he continues to go
inching along through the grass.

Finding his way to
the greater being.
Ever mindful of the future,
he never stops dreaming.

Seeing the day when he
leaves the ground.
Seeking the greater beauty
he knows can be found.

But when the bird swoops
he curls into a ball,
Frighten and scared
as he is gripped in a claw.

In the shuffle
from claw to claw
he is dropped
and begins to fall.

Hitting the ground hard
he feels the pain
but through his tears his mind says
there is much to be gained

A lesson you have learned
keep it fresh in your head,
so when you need to recall
you dont reach an end that is dead

After many lessons are learned,
Its time for him to move on
He spins himself a cocoon
and goes to sleep at dawn.

The things he learned
run over and over
and our caterpillar
begins to maneuver.

When he wakes
He is very cramped.
Pushing his way out
into the cool morning damp.

Spreading his new formed
wings.
So happy he never forgot his dreams.
He takes off into the air
Overwhelmed with joy he screams.

Better then ever before,
more beautiful then the shore
he sets out to find the bird,
and finally settle the score!

Look at me now,
See my beautiful wings.
I want to thank you,
For the lessons you bring.

If it wasnt for you,
I wouldn't have been so strong.
Look at me now,
and hear my song.

Im no longer ugly,
Im no longer slow,
Im no longer the little one,
Im no longer so low.

Im stronger now,
thanks to you.
Im beautiful now,
able to fly now too.

Fly above the troubles
of my past.
Able to see the flowers,
Beyond the grass.

Thanks to you,
I am what Ive become.
I am the Butterfly.
Forever filled with
Happiness
and
Fun!

My Poem
The above is something I wrote. Thinking about my past I've come up with the idea that all our lives are like that of a Butterfly. We all change to become something much better and greater

Shine
As I Look into the Mirrors
I see Scares left my Fears
Body covered and riddled with Scars
I lay Praying with my eyes to the Stars.

Praying for the Scars to be Removed
Hoping they are not Tattooed
Dreaming of the day my Life will me Mine,
Waiting for the day when I can SHINE.
